Rules

How to play

The pool runs on the official Superbru World Cup Predictor. You predict every match; points are scored automatically. The short version is below — full official rules are on Superbru.

01

Make your picks

  • For each match, predict the final score after 90 minutes (plus stoppage time, before extra time in knockouts).
  • Picks lock at the official kickoff time of each match — anything missed scores zero.
  • You can edit your picks freely until kickoff. If you forget, your last saved pick stands.
02

How points are scored

Each match awards points across three tiers:

Exact
3.0pts

You called the exact final score.

Close
1.5pts

Right outcome and the scoreline was close.

Result
1.0pts

You picked the correct result (win/draw/loss).

“Close” is determined by Superbru's margin formula, which rewards predictions that are nearly right even when the exact score is off.

03

Pick the winner — bonus rule

Pool-specific bonus

+3 points

When you sign up, you choose which nation you think will lift the trophy. Call it correctly and 3 bonus points get added to your final Superbru score after the final whistle.

  • One pick per player, set at signup. Picks are locked once signups close on 11 June 2026 — no swapping later.
  • Choose from any of the 48 nations playing in the tournament.
  • This is a custom rule for this pool only — it's not part of Superbru's built-in scoring. I'll add the +3 manually to anyone who calls it right when finalising the standings.
04

Winning the pool

  • Highest total points after the World Cup final wins the pot.
  • Prize split: 55% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, 15% for 3rd.
  • Ties broken by exact-score count, then by the earliest paid-up date.
05

Defaults & no-shows

  • Forgot to pick? Superbru will auto-assign a default pick at kickoff. You may still score points if the default outcome happens — but always better to pick yourself.
  • Buy-in must be paid by the signup deadline (11 June 2026) to be included in the pot. Late or unpaid entries play for fun only.

FAQ

Can I make picks one at a time?
Yes. Submit picks whenever you like, as long as each one is in before that match's kickoff. You don't have to do them all at once.
How do I lock my picks?
Open a match in Superbru, scroll to your pick, and tap Lock pick. Any unlocked picks lock automatically at kickoff. Locking is optional, but it's the only way to see what other players picked once the match starts.
I locked a pick but made a mistake. Can I unlock it?
No — locking is final. If you want flexibility, leave your picks unlocked until kickoff. Superbru will lock them automatically at that point.
What happens if I miss a match?
Superbru auto-assigns a default pick at kickoff. You may still score if the default outcome matches the real result — but it's always better to make your own pick.
How is “Close” (the 1.5-point tier) decided?
Superbru uses their own margin formula based on goal difference and total goals. In practice: you picked the right outcome and the scoreline was within a small margin of the actual result.
